A BRIEF JOURNEY THROUGH THE HISTORY OF WRITING

 
 

The invention of ink and the use of papyrus as a writing surface represented a great leap forward. 

 

The most imprtant writing instrument was the quill, which needed to be dipped in ink. 

 

From the middle of the 16th century: Black-lead writing.

 

Beginning of the 19th century: The first steel nibs appeared on the market.
