TRIANGULAR PROFILE

During normal writing posture, the pencil is held by the thumb, index and middle fingers. A triangular profile pencil provides a larger area of contact for each of the three fingers. This conforms to human ergonomics and therefore results in a writing action that is less tiring.

In recent times, the triangular profile has been recommended for writing novices.

As the triangular profile pencil has a round, conical shape near the tip, it can be easily sharpened with a normal pencil sharpener.
