WATER SOLUBILITY

The lead strike of watersoluble colour pencils (watercolour pencils) can be solved and wiped with water (and a brush).

Water solubility is achieved by impregnating the leads with an "emulsifier" (= water-soluble, wax-like substance) instead of wax or grease.

Scopes of application for watercolour pencils:

Water is applied to the painting surface prior to colouring with the watercolour pencil.
